Parenting is a responsibility that most of us get into unprepared. Even the best of us that seems prepared still find it difficult. So it is important to have an idea of what we are getting ourselves into and also have a process or tool to guide us. We all love the joy a newborn brings, but can we take the newborn through the journey of life? A question we should ask ourself.
There has always been a ‘traditional’ way of raising children that we went through and that our parents went through, and I think it is best to improve on it. The world is advancing, and our parenting should also evolve while still relying on the Bible.
Hi! I am Eniola from Parent gist, and this blog is for you searching for how to be a better parent. First, I want you to know you are doing a great job already. Also, we can all do better. You can do it! I know you can, but I am here to be of help through your process. At parent gist, we bring you parenting from a child’s point of view. I think we have heard many parenting tips from parents themselves, why don’t we try that of the ones you are parenting. Other parents’ children and I are here to tell you how we feel we would love and have loved to be brought up; this does not imply that our parents did not do a good job, they did and are still doing their best, but it could and can be better.
Stick around! But for now, let me leave you with one of my favorite scriptures: 1 Peter 5:2-3 “Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.”
